Soul Sacrifice (Live music starts at 10pm):

Join our resident band from 10pm downstairs for a stripped-back set of classic soul tunes from the vaults of Motown, Stax and Atlantic.

From the delirious delights of James Brown and Solomon Burke to the sensual sounds of Aretha Franklin and Marvin Gaye, we’re bringing all your favourite soul tunes to Brixton every Thursday night.

Big Sandy & His Fly-Rite Boys (doors open at 7:30pm):

Meanwhile, upstairs in the clubroom we’re very excited to welcome Big Sandy and his Fly-Rite boys to the Blues Kitchen for a special live show exploring the plethora of genres that has inspired his musical career.

Rockabilly, Rock & Roll, Honky-Tonk, Rhythm & Blues, Soul, Doo-Wop, Big Sandy’s done it all. Alongside his Fly-Rite boys, the California local has forged a 25 year career that has taken him and his band across the world, becoming torchbearers of American roots music. They’ve toured constantly for the past two decades, playing over 3,000 live shows, which include performances at the Grand Ole Opry, opening for the likes of George Jones, Johnny Cash, Morrisey and The Monkees, along with several appearances on Late Night with Conan O’Brien and many national radio shows.

As a singer, songwriter, bandleader, and entertainer, Big Sandy has few contemporaries. With a dynamic live show, Big Sandy and his Fly-Rite Boys at once acknowledge and celebrate the past while setting the stage for further exploration and interpretation of the musical forms they are most passionate about. Let’s see what they bring for us this March.

Doors for this event open at 7:30pm, tickets are available in the link below.
